why did you become a massage therapist?

This was the question in a new forum I joined... Thought I would share the answer here as some of you might be interested

I was in the middle of a nervous breakdown, knew I wanted to help people and teach but felt ineffective in public school. So I spontaneously enrolled in massage school having never received any form of bodywork in my life.

From there I realized how much I could learn, and how many different paths I could follow and well here I am... a statistical anomaly. Most people leave this field within 5 years and I have been here 9 :D

For me Reflexology (and massage) are about connecting with this human shaped vessel we inhabit... learning to connect and utilize it more effectively, and learning to deeply love and respect it's amazingness.
