When is a metaphor no longer a metaphor?
When you make it a reality I’d guess.
Today I had an enlightening conversation with my mentor and teacher Chris Zydel and we discussed all things relating to family legacy and turning into one’s parents, finding the green shoot of desire, stepping into the self and finding a vast cosmos of potential and awe and wonder and mostly about gnats. And how the gnats are everywhere. And how they are annoying and disgusting and keep you trapped safely inside and how you don’t want to risk them in your teeth and up your nose but you also no longer want to just stay stuck here. The gnats are in the way of all forward progress. The gnats are very loud today and so I can’t get anything done.
In the conversation, we made many jokes to make the gnats be gone and such and suddenly I found myself making spray sound effects and I knew I had to get off the phone call and make some psychic gnat spray.
In the making of psychic gnat spray my first obstacle was finding a functional spray bottle (I thought it should be empty-I was wrong) When no empty bottle was to be found I used the gatheress desert lavender hyrosol as a base. It’s perfect! It smells nice, has bug repelling and physical wound healing properties it’s the perfect start to a psychic gnat potion!
Then I found the gatheress saguaro blend from an experiment on desert medicines I did with her and on it’s fancy label is says celestial belonging !!!! in my conversation I was just explaining how I feel I don’t belong, and how the cosmos is both my safe place and a place that overwhelms me because it’s so vast and well this gem had to go in the potion because half these gnats are trying to keep me form belonging to the celestial universes.
Next, I added a magical potion made just for me by a creative healer.
And lastly, I added some helichrysum for its magical name of “everlasting” and “immortal” and for its properties of also being a bug repellent but mainly for being a healer of psychic and physical wounds.
And now I have a magical gnat spray that I can grab whenever indecision, frustration, and stagnation hit me. Sometimes it is very useful to have a silly and childish way to cope with very overwhelming aspects of life. Plus where I spray this stuff it will smell amazing. And energetically it will change everything.
It will change the metaphor of hardness and frustration and stuck into one of expansion and clearing and out of my way mother fuckers
